The new Oxford American Dictionary has recently announced its 2007 Word of the Year": Locavore.

What does this word mean? Locavore  refers to eating only food that is grown or produced within a 100-mile radius from where one lives.Today, this word also refers to a movement that persuades locals to grow their own food instead of buying from supermarkets.

Among the words that have madi it to list of runners-up for 2007 Word of the Year are: colony collapse disorder,cougar,previvor,social graph, and upcycling.
